As our daylight gets shorter it’s more and more important to stay visible on the roads. A few simple tips will help you stay safe and riding all this fall!
1. Clothing – Wear clothing with reflective strips, or add reflective strips to your existing jacket. Hi-vis helmets are visible in both daytime and dusk!
2. Lights – The law says you must have both a front white light, and a rear red light after dusk. There are plenty of options to fit your needs, from basic safety blinky lights, to lights that will light up the entire road. For lights to illuminate your way, we recommend a light with at least 100 lumens.
3. Change your route – Avoid super dark roads with low shoulders, and instead plan your route to include roads with street lights.
4. Reflective Tires – A tire with a reflective sidewall illuminates your entire bike to cars that are passing by.
